Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the house. David had just finished his morning routine and had a feeling of perfect equilibrium. He glanced up at the attic access, a space that had been on the to-do list for weeks. He knew that now was the time to have a look.

The attic's temperature was noticeably different, cool and shadowed. He explored slowly, his hands brushing against dusty surfaces. A small, wooden box caught his eye. It was simple, unadorned.

He carefully opened the box, revealing a collection of colorful marbles. Their glass surfaces gleamed in the dim light. David picked one up, rolling it between his fingers. He felt the weight of the marble and a wave of pure, simple joy.
